first day of school
i felt like a primary school student writing a little journal on the first day of school.
but of course, its not primary school anymore.
its junior college.
so naturally, everything will not be as fun as the first day of sch during pri sch.
the surroundings was so unfamiliar.
other than around 5 from my school, i knew no one else.
i just sat and wait.
next thing was the singing of national anthem and pledge.
haha, it was worse than in beatty, rather quiet.
then the principal, mr tan, came to speak to us.
anyway, after his talk, more presentations came our way.
there was this group of students who were from the GCE(global classroom experience).
they went to 9 countries last year and for each country, there was one or two students telling us about those activities they did there and so on.
most of them were quite boring.
especially when i sat at the corner and that speech stand was blocking my line of sight!
there was a 10minute break between the talk.
then there was a 1h recess.
and then another talk, then a 1h lunch.
after that we went for a tour around the school.
there are many many rockwalls.
the tennis courts were outdoor.
classrooms are small as i think the classes are small.
there was the athena***?? (library) and 'the study'.
these were cool!
as there was air con.
and we can borrow laptops from the library.
after the tour, we went to a classroom where 2 teachers were waiting for us.
one of them played 'truth, truth, lie' with us, which did not really help much.
after this, we went back to the hall for a briefing.
the lady incharge of the J1s was so hip.
she said that we could take out a piece of paper to jolt down the info, or use our hp to key them in.
and the minute she said the last half of the sentence, everyone in the hall was rummaged through their bags and pockets to whip out their hp.
overall, i can see that the OG leaders did make an effort to try to bond us together, but to no avail as some of us were already in small cliques.
and boys and girls did not really speak to each other.
maybe wait for next week where those ice breaking games could help to let us know each other better.
